They don’t mess with names. It says it all: it’s heartfelt. This is for the morning. And this is cereal. They bury the lead in a pile of textures and flavors, although you can find the inside. Each box contains lightly sweetened whole wheat flakes, nutty klip sticks (or “threads,” as the brand refers to them), and delightfully crunchy granola clusters. When I say crunchy, I mean crunchy. You can hear the rustling from across the room a little below. If you depend on cereal to wake you up in the morning, only crunch will do.
A blend of (very) large wholegrain kernels, chopped almonds and flaxseed, this multi-textured cereal has a unique nutty flavour. You can go on a little adventure with your spoon, look for big pieces if you need something you like or choose nuts and small pieces if you want to go easy in your mouth. It’s fascinating, is what I’m saying. Despite the honey blend in the name, it’s not too sweet and has a hint of salt to balance the sweetness floating around. It embodies Kashi’s motto that Kalin came up with during our tasting: “We go. We are special. We are Kashi.”
While Kalin describes this cereal as having “tendrils,” it’s surprisingly good. The taste is close to a Cheerio with a hint of honey sweetness (though without sugar). The crunch is good and you can be sure it will stay good thanks to the clever packaging. This is a satisfying bowl of cereal that packs a tasty punch beyond all expectations and provides a good daily serving of fibre. In addition, each box contains two bags of cereal, to keep it fresh and healthy. Fantastic!
