Bible Verse God Is Our Help In Times Of Trouble – Or do we first look to other people, such as family members, friends, or neighbors, and take care of us? Before we go to God, do we check what government programs are available to help and assist us?
Although God can work all of the above to help us in times of trouble, He wants us to seek help before we ask others for help. But why do so many of us choose to turn to Him as a last resort?
Bible Verse God Is Our Help In Times Of Trouble
Often the enemy of our soul convinces us that God does not want to help us, especially if we are in trouble. It assures us that we do not deserve God’s help because we are confused, and that we have no right to ask Him because we are not at fault.

However, God wants us to turn to Him. Psalm 91:15 explains: “He will call to me, and I will answer him. I will be with him in trouble, save him and respect him.”
God’s willingness to help us is not determined by whether or not we are responsible for the problems we face, but by His mercy and compassion for us. Isaiah 30:18 says that God wants to have mercy on us, resurrect us, and have mercy on us.
In times of sickness, unemployment, and hardships like Job, there may be people who point fingers at us and say things that are not true about God (Job 42:7).
But instead of agreeing and joining them in John 10:10, we should understand how the thief comes only to steal, kill and destroy. Revelation 12:10 explains that Satan, who accuses his brothers, accuses us day and night before God.

So instead of letting accusations turn us away from God, we can turn to Him. Psalm 34:17: “The righteous cry, and the Lord hears them. He saves them from all their suffering.”
Instead of being far away, as we sometimes see and feel, “The Lord is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth” (Psalm 145:18).
God makes it clear how He will answer us when we turn to Him in the day of trouble, as illustrated in the story of the prodigal son who fell in love. He decided to work as a servant at home, doing nothing but his mistakes and sins.
Luke 15:20 describes his father’s reaction to his return. “He got up and went to his father. Although he was still a long way off, his father saw him and had compassion on him; he ran to his son, embraced him, and kissed him.”

His father gave him new clothes and utensils and gave him a wedding (Luke 15:22, 23): “For this my son died and is alive. lost and found. So they began to celebrate” (Luke 15:24).
However, in contrast to the father’s warm response, the lost brother was angry at his brother’s return, believing that he did not deserve to be welcomed into his family (Luke 15:28). Unfortunately, like the lost brother, not everyone, including family and friends, can support God’s forgiveness and support in times of trouble.
And yet, despite His feelings and imperfections, we can turn to Him in our deepest sympathies and failures, knowing that He will empathize and not reject or forsake us. As Psalm 46:1 reminds us: “God is our refuge and strength, a constant help in trouble.”
